Thank Goodness Foods (Pty) Ltd is committed to food safety and transparency. This page provides important information for customers with food allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities. Please read this information carefully before purchasing or consuming any of our products.

Important Notice

Our products are prepared, handled, stored, and packaged in environments where multiple allergenic ingredients are present. As a result, we cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from allergens.

If you have a severe allergy, we strongly advise that you do not consume our products without first consulting a qualified medical professional.

By purchasing or consuming our products, you acknowledge and accept the information and risks outlined on this page.

Allergen Cross-Contact Disclosure

Ingredients used in our products may contain or may have come into contact with the following allergens, either directly or through shared equipment, facilities, storage, transport, or handling processes:

Mandatory Declared Allergens

  • Milk (including cow’s milk and goat’s milk)

  • Eggs

  • Peanuts

  • Tree nuts, including but not limited to:

    • Almond

    • Brazil nut

    • Cashew nut

    • Hazelnut

    • Macadamia nut

    • Pecan nut

    • Pistachio nut

    • Walnut

  • Soya (soybeans)

  • Cereals containing gluten (although we do not use any gluten in our products, we cannot guarantee that there has not been any cross-contamination from where we source our products). Sources of gluten could include:

    • Wheat (gluten)

    • Rye (gluten)

    • Barley (gluten)

    • Oats (gluten)

    • Hybridised strains of the above

  • Sulphur dioxide and sulphites, where present at concentrations exceeding 10 mg/kg or 10 mg/L in the final product

Excluded Allergens

Based on our current ingredient sourcing and preparation processes:

  • Fish

  • Crustaceans and molluscs (including crabs, lobsters, prawns, mussels, oysters)

are not intentionally used in our products.

However, despite supplier assurances, trace cross-contact cannot be completely ruled out due to factors beyond our direct control, including upstream manufacturing and transport.

No Allergen-Free Claims

Unless explicitly stated in writing on a specific product label, Thank Goodness Foods does not make any “allergen-free” guarantees, including but not limited to:

  • Dairy-free

  • Nut-free

  • Egg-free

  • Gluten-free

  • Soy-free

Statements such as “plant-based,” “natural,” or “wholesome” do not indicate allergen absence.

Customer Responsibility

It is the customer’s responsibility to:

  • Review ingredient information carefully

  • Assess personal allergy risk

  • Seek medical advice where necessary

If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for your dietary needs, do not consume it.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Thank Goodness Foods (Pty) Ltd, its directors, employees, suppliers, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any adverse reaction, injury, loss, or damage arising from the consumption of our products where allergens are present or may be present as disclosed on this page.

Nothing in this notice limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (Act No. 68 of 2008).
